What conditions has NYS approved for Medical Marijuana?

New York State has approved Medical Marijuana for a growing list of conditions.

Currently, NYS approves Medical Marijuana for

  • Neuropathy
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Cancer and chemotherapy
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • ALS: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
  • HIV / AIDS
  • Huntington’s Disease
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Epilepsy
  • Chronic Pain (March 2017)

NYS requires any of the above conditions to have an associated condition like

  • severe or chronic pain
  • severe or persistent muscle spasms
  • seizures
  • severe nausea
  • cachexia or wasting syndrome

Patients and their advocates are currently asking NYS to approve a larger list of conditions like

  • PTSD
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • insomnia
  • anxiety
